Capital Region
National Day of Prayer
May 7,
2009
2:00 - 4:00
p.m. Pastors/Church Leaders Gathering
4:30 - 8:30
p.m. Evening Public Prayer/Unity Assembly West Lawn U.S. Capitol
The NDP Celebration
features a multi-racial, multi-cultural gathering at the U.S. Capitol. More
specifically, it is a cross-cultural annual event of worship, repentance,
supplication and celebration of the Church's unity. It is a unique occasion
that has occurred consistently since 1984! It is a visible expression of
corporate identity when the many-membered Body of Christ is united with
Christians representing all of the World's continents, the suburbs, the inner
city, and members of store-front and mega-sized congregations all gathering as
one on the lawn of the Capitol building to symbolize and proclaim the
sovereignty of Christ over the city, Nation and humanity.
Foundation: Corporate prayer and the fostering of relationships
in the Body of Christ since 1980 with those of like vision.
The
Quest: Unity in Christ! (Ephesians 4:3)
To all who
participated in making this year's Capital Region National Day of Prayer an
experience to remember, we sincerely thank you.
The eyes of the
LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show himself strong.
2 Chronicles 16:9a
We entered 2009 CRNDP
wholly given to Him in trust. Whenever the LORD finds such a people,
holding fast to their faith and confidence in Him, He always shows
himself strong. He reveals His power. In this season of Americas history
the truth that prayer is Americas hope must be coupled with enduring
faith and the committing of all things into Gods hands. Enduring
faith says to the LORD, I cast every concern into your care. We
stand on your promise that You will give the wisdom, understanding and strategy
needed. We have no will of our own; rather Your will be done; no personal
agenda nor trying to solve the problems of these times. Our posture is that we
will remain focused on You as we seek Your will. We reaffirm our commitment to
the movement of ongoing prayer, in which we have been called. We are assured
that with continued faith in our LORD, well be ready for whatever the
present hour brings! The anchor of Jesus Christ holds! Amen.
